Five Element exploration and how to transform disturbing emotions:
Les Granges, Switzerland
10th–15th October
What are destructive emotions? We all feel that we know what a destructive
emotion is but from the Buddhist psychology point of view it refers to
something that prevents the mind from seeing things as they truly are.
They are also called mental obscurations because they blind us, they impair
our ability to see, to know clearly and they compel us to speak and act
in an unwholesome way.
In this retreat we'll first take time to establish a state of body-mind that is stable, positive and calm. This is absolutely necessary so that one can return to that inner refuge at will.
From
this state of calm we'll then be able to study a destructive emotion. How
does it manifest in the body? Can we touch it with kindness and patience?
Can we rest right in its centre as a bodily sensation and let it free itself?
Can we witness the freed up energy and let it return to a wholesome state
of mind?
As a preparation for this retreat you'll need to commit yourself to a daily practice of the loving kindness meditation for 30 days prior to attending
