Retreats in Switzerland 2012
Taming the monkey mind, releasing grasping, freeing mind.
30th April – 6th May
At Felsentor
From a momentary contact with the outside world, a chain of mental associations are triggered, throwing us in to emotional and physical ups and downs that can last for a few moments to several years. These associations, concepts and words flooding the mind are like a never ceasing stream of fears, hopes, memories and ideas, impulses that seem to govern our life.
How to tame this constant flow that binds us to there and then?
The first step is to remember, to recollect, resting the attention on what is in the moment, without any fabrication, neither accepting nor rejecting any impression that arises into our awareness. Just noting it as it is.
The practice of recollection is quite simple, applied in all activities it leads to a quiet yet joyous discovery that the luminous, empty and clear nature of Awareness simply is always present.
To cultivate an “open heart” will deepen our understanding of self and others. Indeed, can we keep a soft and open heart in the midst of confusion and emotional or physical suffering?
In “opening the heart” our self limitations dissolve and we merge with the infinite potential of Mind, free, spontaneous and unbounded.
This course includes approximately one hour per day work in the house or gardens.
